We have two branches open 7 days in week with ongoing dance programmes in over 30 dance courses and with more then 100 classes in week.
What Is The World Renowned Russian Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet
The Vaganova method is a ballet technique and training system devised by the Russian dancer and pedagogue Agrippina Vaganova (1879–1951). It was derived from the teachings of the Premier Maitre de Ballet Marius Petipa, throughout the late 19th century. It was Agrippa Vaganova who perfected and cultivated this form of teaching classical ballet and turned it into a viable syllabus.
Examinations & Performances
School of Russian Ballet. Singapore provides annual examinations on Ballet (Vaganova Method), Character Dance and Jazz Dance Classes after which, our students are awarded with the Local and International Certifications.
A team of the talented students have been undergoing consistent training and have participated in local and International Dance Competitions, representing Singapore abroad and becoming finalist and winners.
SORBS have also organised and collaborated with local and international Art Establishments:
*Organised a series of ballet master classes by stars of Russian Ballet in collaboration with Esplanade Theatres by the Bay (2018).
*Provided teaching courses and lectures for Dance and Theatre departments at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. (2013-2018)
*Organised International trips and participations in the world renowned Dance programs and Seminars at Vaganova Academy Of Russian Ballet St. Petersburg. Russia (2016 -2019).
*Provided Training courses and choreography classes in collaboration with Singapore Gymnastics National Team Singapore (2018-219).
Students of SORBS are able to participate yearly in professional quality ballet productions, created by a strong team of Choreographers from the faculty of the school.
The ballet performances are shown to Singapore audiences and performed on the prestigious stages of Victoria Theatre, Capitol Theatre, Gateway Theatre.
Under the artistic direction and curation of SORBS’s academic Director and Principal Mrs. Elena Kanevskaia SORBS was produced such a big ballet productions like:
“Nutcracker ”2012, “Alice in Wonderland” 2013, “Peter Pan” 2014, “Cinderella” 2015, “Sleeping Beauty” 2016, “Coppelia” 2017, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” 2018,
“The Snow Queen” 2019, “Aladdin” 2021, “Swan Lake” 2022, “Beauty and The Beast” 2023, Grand Pas from Ballet Paquita 2023. ‘The Wizard of Oz” 2024. “The House of Magic Dolls” 2025. “The Nutcracker” 2026.
All the performances was successful and had a high positive response from the audience, media and industry professionals.
